Communications Law
Communications law in Canada has been traditionally divided into two broad categories, "broadcasting" and "telecommunications". Principal responsibility for supervision and regulation of both areas lies with the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission ("CRTC") pursuant to the Broadcasting Act of 1991 and the Telecommunications Act of 1993. The area is one of increasing complexity and, of course, research on the topic is rarely confined to Canada. The links included here are by jurisdiction and are not intended to be exhaustive; rather, they comprise a few of the more substantive and valuable Web-based resources.
