InternationalInternational Commercial Arbitration: Resources in Print and Electronic FormatLyonette Louis-Jacques, Foreign and International Law Librarian and Lecturer in Law, University of Chicago Law School, D'Angelo Law Library has compiled and is maintaining an excellent web and print resource list for international arbitration. This is a good place to begin research for an overview of the sources available electronically as well as what one might need to locate in print. This organization is dedicated to the resolution of disputes through the use of arbitration, mediation, negotiation, elections and other out-of-court settlement means and procedures. Includes information on mediation, arbitration, and all methods of dispute resolution. Articles, research data, statutes, rules and forms are also available on-line. Texts of major international conventions and rules are presented, along with Dutch domestic arbitral resources. The best feature is a comprehensive set of links to home pages of arbitral institutions, incorporated here by reference as an excellent "one-stop-shopping" list for such sites. Professor Winship, James Cleo Thompson Sr. Trustee Professor of Law at Southern Methodist University School of Law, has prepared a sound set of links to major sites in international arbitration. The Kluwer International Arbitration site linked here is worthwhile but sponsored by a particular publisher of international legal information and hence with a focus on products and services of that company. This site is dedicated to promoting the constructive resolution of conflict through non-adversarial processes. Formerly known separately as ConflictNet, it PeaceNet provides links to the worldwide conflict resolution community. Site contains links to Conventions, Treaties, national arbitration laws and international organizations. The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the largest world business organization, sponsors an arbitral tribunal. Awards will appear; model clauses, rules, and other reference materials are currently posted.
